Desirae Johnson is an experienced public relations professional with a background in agency and nonprofit work. In additional to her professional experience in the PR field, she works as an adjunct professor in the communication departments at several metro-Atlanta universities.
Desirae specializes in social media, SEO, online public relations and optimizing press releases and is an avid PR theory researcher in these areas. She has presented papers at several conferences including “Pushing the Envelope of Relationship Management Theory: Specifics for Advancing the Practice” at the 2011 International Public Relations Research Conference and “Rotten to the Core: A Case Study of Applebee’s PR Meltdown on Facebook” at the 2013 Social Media & Society conference. Desirae continues to work on future research projects.
Desirae Johnson received a M.A. in Integrated Global Communication and B.S. in Communication at Kennesaw State University. Desirae studied a variety of subjects while attending Kennesaw State including international public relations, social media and sociology. She resides in Powder Springs, Georgia with her husband, daughter and cat where she watches her vegetable garden grow and blogs about vegan cuisine, PR and social media.
